    Hi guys,

I Race karts at the moment in the Leopard 125 class and looking towards the end of next year. My budget is either a brand new Leopard Kart package ($9000) for season 2007, Brand Competitive FVee ($13000) or Mildly competive FFord ($20000), at the moment its cost $600-1000 a weekend to race the leopard. i run about 15 races a year and have to replace tyres every weekend. HOw often do the tyres FVees run on need to be change to be competitive and wats the cost per set? How many meets in Victoria is there per year and whats the damage bill if i had an accident going to cost ruffly.

any help is much appreciated please email me at kartstar@netspace.net.au

Lots of questions, firstly tyres, $900 for a set that will do you for the year, thats the good news. There are 5 or 6 race weekends in Victoria each year. And finally the price of a crash is pretty hard to tell… depends on what you hit and how fast you are travelling… also depends on what you are driving… I have had a few crashes that have been around a grand and one that was $3k… of course the more expensive the gear you are running the more expensive the repairs generally.
    Good luck
