 • Front and rear disk brake conversion

Hello all,

I was just wondering what the current thinking was in regard to brake master cylinder sizes when using disk brakes on a vee. I am using V-force callipers front and rear and was planning on using the same master cylinders as I previously used with drum brakes. Is this normal practice or do I need to change these as well?

Thanks in advance,

Matt, you could just use the master cylinders you have at the moment. I was using 5/8 cylinders with drums and changed over to discs without a problem. I did try some 3/4 master cylinders with the discs for a while but went back to 5/8. A bit longer in the pedal but much less pedal effort required. Just bolt 'em on, bleed 'em and get out there.
