 • Measuring Deck Heights

Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of re-building the top end of my 1200 and i am trying to get the deck heights as close to 1mm as possible but i don't seem to be getting consistant measurements. I am using a good quality digital vernier caliper to measure the height but i'm not sure the best way to set the barrels in to get an accurate and consitant measurement.

Any help would be great

Thanks

You need to bolt a thick and flat piece of steel to the top of the barrells and clamp the vernier's to the steel (at 90deg). Talk to your engine sealer, they may lend/help you with a tool.
