I'm in the process of getting some steering arms built for my Historic Vee and I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer!

1) Are the rod end/tie rod threads meant to be left handed or right handed?
2) If for example they are left handed, does that mean that both ends of each steering arm require left handed rod ends?

I would appreciate any comments from other members.

Regards

Hi Paul,

Yes, it allows for easier adjustment of the steering alignment just back the jam nuts off and twist one way to make the arm longer and the other to shorten (same principle as a turnbuckle). If you're confused go to a hardware or marine supplies store and buy a turnbuckle and have a play with it.

If you have both ends right hand treaded you need to take at least one end of the arm off to adjust the steering arm length.

Hope that helps............
