Document Actions

Head and neck restraint has become a major issue in motor sport safety. Several international and major national categories, under both FIA and non-FIA regulations, have now made the use of such restraint compulsory.

The Australian Institute for Motorsport Safety (AIMSS) is holding a workshop in MELBOURNE from 6pm - 10pm on Thursday 1 May 2008.

The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Michael Henderson, AIMSS Chairman and Fellow of the FIA Institute for Motor Sport Safety. Presenters will include suppliers of safety equipment of all kinds, prominent competitors and other experts.

Motorsport participants of all levels are invited to attend to increase their awareness and understanding of the safety aspects of our sport which will continue to tighten in the coming years, even at club and state level.

The cost to attend is $45 (or free for PIARC and AIMSS members). Attendees are also encouraged to bring along their safety harnesses/gear and/or vehicles for inspection/advice.

Full information can be found in the attached document.
