08-12-2009 Ray Filetti Recognized through Life Membership
Outgoing FVANSW president, Ray Filetti has been recognized at the FVANSW presentation dinner thought the awarding of life membership to the FVANSW.
Ray was overwhelmed by the whole experience, trying to talk down the significance of his contribution to Formula Vee however everyone present agreed that he was a most deserving recipient.
A presentation was organized by the committee, which highlighted some of the more significant contributions that Ray has made over the last 20 odd years:
- Always a big promoter of safety having donated his damaged chassis to the Amaroo rescue team and organizing FVee competitors to drive the medical intervention car.
- Offering his car and finances to build the NSW FVee 1600 test car
- Many years served on various motorsport related committees, most recently as FVANSW president.
- Organizing the super series of the late 90’s which culminated with FVee running at
in 1999.Bathurst
Ray now joins a select group of people including David Cutts, Neil Turner, John Moxon, Frank Kleinig, Greg Hepburn, Bruce Colbey, Ian Chivas and Damon Beck.
Ray has indicated that he intends to step back from the day to day running of the FVANSW in 2010 in order to concentrate on getting his self built Vee ready for a 2010 debut.
