22-06-2009 Beacham Racing Set to take on Australias best
Round 2 of the 2009 Shannons Nationals for Formula Vee heads to the Victorian rural circuit of Winton Motor Raceway.Heading the lineup for the Beacham Racing team is New Zealand spearhead Matt Stubbs. Stubbs has shown some good speed in the limited racing he has competed in in Australia after taking out 5th in the New Zealand Formula First Championship. Stubbs is adapting well to the #25 Creative Machining Jacer F2K9 with his most recent drive a stunning 17th to 6th in a storming drive at Round 2 of the Vic State Series at Sandown after gearbox dramas haunted the Kiwi all weekend.
Stepping into the #26 Creative Maching Jacer F2K8 for the first time will be ex Formula Vee champion Craig Hendrick. Hendrick will take over the seat from Ken Filbey as Filbey will concerntrate only on the Vic Series for 2009. Hendrick brings years of experience in all forms of motorsport to the team after taking on the 2008 Australian Manufacturers Championship last year. Although Hendrick has never set foot in his ride until this weekend the team is confident he has the ingredients to battle for the podium alongside team mate Stubbs.
Racing at winton starts Friday with 3 practice sessions, followed by 2 qualifiers on saturday and 3 action packed races on Sunday. Also supporting the Shannons Nationals at winton will be F3, Aussie Racers, V8 Touring Cars, Saloon Cars, and Commodore Cup. Beacham Racing will also be seen during the pit stops of the Commodore Cup Enduro as regular FV driver Daniel Orr partners up with brother Dean.
